Growing number of browser-based attacks
According to Microsoft Security Intelligence Report unveiled last Saturday, the majority of Internet attacks is aiming at exploiting Web browser flaws.
Microsoft reported the total number of OS attacks is declining, however spyware, viruses and other malware attacks are rising.
The amount of malicious software removed from PCs went up by 43 percent in the first 6 months of 2008. Nearly one-third of the infections were Trojan horses.
According to the report China indicated the highest rate of Web browser-based with US ranking second.
