Microsoft to use Black Screen to fight piracy in China
Some of the Windows users in China that were using counterfeit copies of the OS were greeted with black computer screens recently.
Microsoft is tacking piracy in their Windows operating system in China by using a validation mechanism that determines whether a PC is using illegal versions of MS Windows and MS Office.
Should an illegal copy be detected, the screen will turn black for one hour.
Microsoft reported that users can check if they are using an legitimate copy by installing Windows Genuine Advantage Program that will say an user whether they are using a genuine Windows copy or not.
