Mono allows .net software to run on Linux
Mono 2.0 is an open-source runtime that now allowed .net applications to run in Linux environment.
The open source Mono 2.0 technology allows developers to build desktop and server programs using Microsoft development environments and use their applicatins across multiple plaforms.
Mono 2.0 supports the C# 3.0 language and LINQ, however, Mono 2.0 currently doesn's support .Net 3.0 and .Net 3.5 APIs.
Mono 2.0 includes Mono Migration Analyzer that scrutinizes the preparation level of Linux environments for using the .Net programs.
