Symantec released Internet Security Threat Report
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) announced their latest Internet Security Threat Report unveiling some interesting data about the growth of Internet security risks in 2008.
Symantec in their lately announced report stressed the fact that during 2008 there was significantly more virus impacts and especially attacks focused on stealing of personal information than in 2007.
The company researchers have been tracking worldwide virus activity with the conclusion that the number of viruses was rapidly increasing during 2008 in volume and proliferation of new code threats was leveraged when compared to previous calendar year.
According to Symantec some 245 million malicious code attacks across the globe each month were attempted during 2008.
The Internet Security Threat Report delivered by Symantec is based on numerous sources and points of data collection including millions of Internet sensors, providing a global overview of the threat situation.
